Veamos la diferencia entre los verbos "botar" y "votar".
Son palabrashomófonas (same pronuntiation). Ambos tienen la notación fonética /botar/, pero tienen diferentes significados; revisemos las primeras acepciones de cada verbo según la RAE.
botar.
1. tr. Arrojar, tirar, echar fuera a alguien o algo.
2. tr. Echar al agua un buque haciéndolo resbalar por la grada después de construido o carenado.
3. tr. Lanzar contra una superficie dura una pelota u otro cuerpo elástico para que retroceda con impulso.
votar.
1. intr. Dicho de una persona: Dar su voto o decir su dictamen en una reunión o cuerpo deliberante, o en una elección de personas. U. t. c. tr.
2. intr. Hacer voto a Dios o a los santos. U. t. c. tr.
3. intr. Echar juramentos.
4. tr. Aprobar por votación.

It's not necessary the articles; and the "semicolon(;)" replaces the conjunction "y", while the "comma(,)" replaces the verb "ser" in the second proposition.
